The Saturday before Easter will see the organisers of the Tipperary Vintage and Custom Rally don their hobnails and pull a tractor a distance of 10km From Pallas Green down to Limerick Junction in a bid to raise further funds as part of the Tipperary Vintage and Custom rally.
The tractor pull will start at 10am on Saturday, April 7, and they hope to at the Racecourse by 2pm where further activities are planned including Honda 50 soccer and a moped mounted obstacle course.
Following on from this, and if anybody is left standing, there will be the Tommy T memorial bike run at 4pm to which all bikers in the area are invited.
The Rally itself takes place on Easter Sunday and this year the attractions will include vintage planes and an aerobatic display from Gerry Humphreys whilst the Carron Model Flying Club Co are offering the chance for visitors to have a go at radio controlled flying themselves. All this besides the vintage and classic vehicles and machinery from all walks of life, which will be there plus the second annual Modified Car show which is being held as part of the day’s festivities. This proved a popular attraction last year when it was held for the first time and it looks to be a major item at this years rally with cars from all over Ireland pledging to come along.
To ensure the whole family is entertained the increasingly popular dog show will go ahead once more and there is the chance for new or young bands to come and impress with their talents so if you are musically inclined and are willing to come and play for the crowd the organisers would love to hear from you.
This year the money raised will be donated to South Tipperary Hospice and the Irish Heart Foundation adding to the €74,000 already raised over the past three years. The Rally promises something for everyone and all are welcome, full event and contact details may be found on the rally website – www.tipprally.com.
