Last week signalled the end of the season for Drangan’s under 16 hurlers when they were defeated by Moyle Rovers in the championship and lost to Moycarkey Borris in the final of the Brendan Teehan memorial tournament in Gortnahoe. Our final act of the season to concede a walk over to Carrick Swans in the championship due to injuries and players away on holidays.
Team: Brendan Kearney, Cathal Meagher, Ciarán Mockler, Stephen McGrath, Conor Gorey, Cathal Mahoney, Joey Noonan, Darragh Wilson, Conor Clancy, Darren Boland, Conor Cuddihy, Aidan Buckley, Brian Kenny, Stephen Lawless, Jack Hennessey, Jamie Broderick, Stephen O’Brien and Cameron Moynihan.
We thank the players and selectors for the time and effort they put into under 16 hurling and football this year. They had a tough season in under 16 A hurling but did well considering they had to compete in A and had lost a number of players from the team that won the under 14 South B final in 2010. Many of our under 16 players are on our minor team and will contest the South Tipperary B semi final on Monday, August 27, at 6.30pm in Fethard against Killenaule.
This Saturday our Junior B hurlers play Cahir in the South Tipperary semi final at 6.30pm in Ned Hall Park, Clonmel.
Members who require tickets for the All Ireland Hurling Finals should contact club secretary Catherine Mockler.
