Under 10’s and Under 12’s
The u10 and u12 coaches are hoping to run a u10 and u12 combined parish league, which will run over four weekends. The exact details have not been finalised as yet.
On Friday evening, August 17, we played St. Ailbe’s, Emly, in the Junior D Championship in Emly, with the St. Patrick’s ladies recording a third victory in the D Championship. The first half was a lively and balanced affair, with the half time score line St. Patrick’s 2.5 to St. Ailbe’s 2.0, however the St. Patrick’s ladies pulled away in the second half and won the match out on a scoreline of 4.8 to St. Ailbe’s 2.1. In the backs, Roisin Horan and the Sugrue sisters Aileen and Anne played really well and ensured a solid defence. Lynda Nevin worked trojanly for the 60 minutes in midfield and up front Shelley O’Dwyer was the main target woman and play maker for most of the St. Patrick’s scores.
Team: Marie O’Connell, Aileen Sugrue, Roisin Horan, Denise Noonan, Niamh Dunne , Rebecca Hayden (capt), Anne Sugrue, Lynda Nevin (1.0) and Aileen Kelly, Una O’Brien (0.4), Siobhan Vaughan (1.1), Siobhan Dunne, Helen Hogan, (1.1) Shelley O’Dwyer and Maeve Browne. Subs: Deirdre O’Donovan (1.2) and Niamh Morrissey.
We are scheduled to play Thurles Gaels away next weekend, details not finalised at present.

FIONN MAC CUMHAILL PLAYERS
Congrats to Anne Williamson for being nominated for a Tipp FM Award. The Fionn Mac Cumhaill Players Drama Group received an award in 2007 for ‘One flew over the cuckoo’s nest’ and ‘The Miser’ and now Anne has been nominated for her role as Annie Wilkes in Misery and for great work she has done in producing 15 plays since 2003. The group has a very steady cast to choose from, a total of about 60 actors in all have taken part down through the years. We look forward to what the group has to offer this year - all will be revealed soon...
