In recent years Halloweeen has become particularly associated with some very unpleaseant aspects of anti-social behavior and other activities which can cause injuries to young people. Some of these practices, which are being highlighted this year by the Community Alert organization include fireworks, bonfires, drinking alcohol in public places and excessive noise, all of which are offences which can be prosecuted in a court of law.
The death has occurred at an advanced age of Eileen O’Donoghue, nee Moloney, Farrancliffe, Tipperary. She was predeceased by her husband Paddy who died in July 1971. There was a large attendance at her removal from Whelan’s Funeral Home to the Church of the Assumption, Lattin and at the following day’s requiem mass and interment in Mount Bruis cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her sons, daughters, relatives and friends.
We wish to thank Lattin Lawn Tennis Club for their generous donation of €400 to our funds, representing part of the proceeds from their recent successful tournament. We would also like to congratulate the tennis club on its 60 years in existence and wish them continued success in the future.
