Parents Council AGM-

The annual general meeting of Newcastle Parents Council will be held in Scoil Mhuire at 8pm on Thursday night 15th November. Guest speaker on the night will be Anne Marie McCarra who will give a talk on fitness and healthy eating for children. Principal Miss Moloney will attend on the night, parents and new parents welcome.

Lourdes 2013-

The Waterford/Lismore Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes is on from the 6th to the 11th June 2013. To encourage and facilitate persons interested in travelling the savings club is now open.

You may save what you wish, but for example if you decide to save 20 euro a week it should be sufficient to meet your full fare. At this early date we cannot advise on the precise cost but for last year it amounted to 705 euro all in.

All Saints Day-

The vigil Mass for all saints day will be in Newcastle Church this Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.

GAA Committee Meeting-

The November committee meeting will be held in the clubrooms on Wednesday November 7th at 8pm. This date may change due to circumstances outside of the club. A text to confirm the meeting will be sent prior to the meeting from the secretary to the committee members.


Winners were as follows: John Mangan, John Cleary, Joe Loughnane, and Seamus Dwyer. Lucky Table: Jocie O Gorman, Con Dwyer. Raffle: Ben Culligan, Ann McCarthy and Nellie Nugent.

Dancing Classes:Please note there will be no dancing classes in the Community Hall this Friday evening 2nd November.


Fundraising Sale of Work: In aid of Newcastle Community Youth & Resource Group, Tigh na nDaoine will take place on Saturday 17th November at 7pm in the community hall.

If anyone has anything they would like to donate to this sale of work before this date please contact Mandy on (087) 1846393. All delph, furniture, clothes, toys, unwanted gifts etc greatly appreciated.

Ár gCéad Chairde sa Chaisleán Nua:

Our First Friends Newcastle Baby & Toddler Group will not meet on Tuesday 30th October due to school midterm but will resume again as normal on Tuesday 6th November when we will hold our raffle in order to raise funds for our new group to purchase toys, storage, books etc.

There are 3 hampers and a voucher for Knocklofty Leisure Centre to be won.

Hampers are on display in McCarra’s Shop, O’ Dwyer’s Shop and the Hair Den where lines can be bought for €1 per line. Your support would be much appreciated.
