Church Gate Collection in aid of Self Help for Africa in Burncourt, January 19 and 20.
Our sympathy to the Lonergan family of Cahir Park on the death of John. Our condolences to John’s wife Mai, his daughters Breda, Margaret and Mary and all his relatives and friends. Following Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Cahir, John was interred in Burncourt Cemetery. Sympathy to Siobhan Maher on the death of her father Jimmy Dennigan, Fermoy. To Jimmy’s wife Kathleen, his daughters and son, brothers, sister, grandchildren and all his relatives and friends we tender our deepest sympathy. Our heartfelt condolences also to Mary Lee on the death of her daughter Sinead, Killenaule. Our sympathy to Sinead’s partner, her daughters and sons and all her relatives and friends.

John Lonergan of Cahir Park and formerly of Toorbeg, Burncourt passed to his eternal reward last week. John was one of only two surviving members of the 1948 Burncourt County Junior football winning team, the goalkeeper. Club members performed a guard of honour at his removal from Costigan’s to St Mary’s Church Cahir. We offer our sympathies to his wife Mai and family. The club offers its condolences to Siobhan Maher, Burncourt, and to her family on the death of her father Jimmy Dennigan in Fermoy last week. Also to former local Garda Paddy Ryan on the death of his wife Margaret in Mitchelstown over the New Year. Finally to Pat Enright and family on the death of his sister Caroline in Cahir this past weekend.
