SPRING MASS

There will be a Spring Mass in Knockadea Community Centre this Friday, March 22, 8pm. There will be blessing of animals, pets, land, water and flowers. Teas will be served.

U16 FOOTBALLERS BEATEN

Glanworth U16 A footballers lost out to Buttevant in Glanworth on Sunday last. The final score was 2 - 9 to 0- 6.

CBS HURLERS

Mitchelstown CBS U14 hurlers competed in a blitz competition in Cork Monday last. They played three games beating Glanmire, St Colman’s and Rochestown College to win the prize a bag of sliotars, bibs and training cones.

RUGBY

Mitchelstown’s success in recent Rugby competitions and on Saturday last they had a good home win over Mallow in the U17 Development Cup. Mitchelstown were victorious 17 to 7.

GAA

This Saturday Mitchelstown play Clyda Rovers in the Under 21 A FC semi final in Shanballymore at 4pm. Ballygiblin have a home game in the Cavanagh’s Fermoy Div 1 HL v Dungourney on Sunday 12md.

MACRA TABLE QUIZ

Mitchelstown Macra na Feirme are holding a table quiz on Friday, April 19. Tables of four E40. Venue to be confirmed. Enquiries to John 0861721027.

ART CLASSES

MITCHELSTOWN GATHERING

Family clan tracing workshop – learn to trace your family tree in the New Library Mitchelstown this Saturday, March 23, from 10am to 12md. There is a display of emigrant ships at the Library Mitchelstown ‘til Saturday, March 23. It depicts 1825 emigration of farmers and workers from the parish of Mitchelstown, Brigown and Templetenny to Ottawa to make a new life.

COFFEE/TEA DAY

There will be a Coffee/Tea Day on Easter Monday, April 1, from 10am to 5pm, organised by Paddy Ryan and family at their home in Garryleigh Mitchelstown. Proceeds towards Marymount Hospice Cork. Your support would be appreciated.

FLOWER & GARDEN CLUB

Mitchelstown Flower & Garden Club will host an evening of gardening and preserves with Tim Crowley in the Town Hall this Thursday, March 21, 8pm. Everyone is welcome.

BALLYGIBLIN PARENT’S COUNCIL

Ballygiblin Parent’s Council will be holding a used clothing collection on April 23. If you are planning a Spring Clean out and can hold used clothing, linens and textiles until then the local Council members would be very grateful.
