County Board Table Quiz - well done to Séamus Hackett, David Fennessy, Kathryn Heffernan and John Cullinan on winning the local heat of the County Board table quiz last Friday night. They now go on to the county final to be held in the Dome, Thurles on Thursday, March 28.

Grand National Tipster Competition- the County board is running a tipster competition based on the Grand National to be held on Saturday, April 6. Anyone interested should contact the officers of the club

Juvenile GAA - Our under 12’s had a good win over Fr Sheehy’s on Wednesday, March 6, they started the football championship on March 10 when they travelled to Carrick. Our under 8’s travelled to Cahir on Saturday last playing in a football blitz and excelled themselves.

The South Tipperary Regional Committee will hold their annual Retreat in the Presentation Convent, Clonmel, on Sunday next, Psalm Sunday, at 2pm.


The Newcastle Homecoming Festival committee have organised a table quiz for Thursday, March 21, in the Glenview Lounge, Goatenbridge, at 9pm. Tables of four €20.

The Homecoming Festival (Gathering 2013) will take place from Friday, June 21, to Sunday, June 30. Full detail of activities for the 10-day event will be announced soon but will include activities from the National School, GAA, Muintir na Tire and more and will include events for the young and not so young.

All monies raised from the table quiz will go towards the cost of running the Festival. The committee would welcome your support.


The monthly meeting of Muintir Na Tire Community Council will be held in the hall on Wednesday, March 20, at 8pm.
