Fabulous fundraiser Pat Cunningham is off on the road again trying to raise much needed funds for Crumlin.
Money raised this year will go to the cancer ward at Our Lady’s Hospital and Pat teaming up with the family of young Donal Walsh, the young Kerry lad who passed away a couple of weeks ago, loosing his battle with cancer.
While Donal was alive he managed to raise over €50,000 for Crumlin - what a brave and nice young man .R.I.P.
“This year I will attempt to ride another saddle sore 1000 miles. Only one other person has managed to complete this particular event, its called the Parliament Run. I have to leave Cahir and ride my bike to Dublin to the Dail, take pic and get a receipt, then to Stormont, then get ferry to Scotland and ride to the Edinburgh house of parliament then to London and finally Cardiff in Wales. I have to take pics of all five buildings and get receipts as well. It is 1000 miles in 24 hours,” Pat explained his latest challenge!
“I will do the same approach as I did last year and call to all the businesses in Cahir and any donation is welcome. I fund the event myself as I will be doing it anyway but it gives me an extra boost when I have raised funds for the hospital. Last year we raised €2,455 thanks to ye, the people who donated. This event will take place either mid June or end of July.
“1000 miles is a long way and staying awake for 24 hrs is hard work, having to ride my motorbike safely for this long time is both mentally and physically hard so any help you can give would be great,” Pat says. He invites people to contact him on 0861511853.
