Buster Race Night for Community Playground exceeds expectations

Miceal McCormack gets a few winners from greyhound expert Paddy Hickey, at the Fethard Playground Night at The Dogs fundraiser at Clonmel Track.
The fundraising Buster Race Night for the Community Playground was a wonderful success. There was a great turnout on the night and proceedings were blessed with wonderful weather which really added to the atmosphere. A large number of children attended and going by their interest and enjoyment of betting on the races I think the attendance at Clonmel Track may expand in future years. We had three characters present - our Bananas Aisling and Natasha and Richard the Donkey - which added to the fun element and also our Face Painting staff were in good demand.

The Buster Draw of €1,500 was won by John Hanly, c/o Coolmore Stud, congratulations John. This fundraising initiative raised just about €19,000 and with costs of €2,500 the net income is €16,000 which more than meets our current financial needs.

Well done to all concerned and a big ‘Thank You’ to all those who made it the success it was. So many people helped in so many ways, that there are too many to mention individually.

The project is proving to be a wonderful example of a community working together for a very worthwhile cause.
