Growing retail Activity Plan in South Tipp is ‘confusing’

A plan entitled, Growing Retail Activity in South Tipperary, 2012/2014, prepared by the County Council has been described by Cashel Councillor, Maribel Wood, as ‘detailed, well intentioned but confusing when one looks at Cashel’s experience on the ground’.

“It’s a strange coincidence that while we were discussing the protection of small and medium sized enterprises and the retention of local jobs, our October agenda included a decision to grant permission for the provision of a discount superstore on a listed protected site at Indaville, Boherclough”.

“We can all see the scars of bad planning in areas of our town but if we recognise why tourists come here, ie. to experience that heritage, walk the town and meet the people, then we must get our priorities right and protect it” she said
