Clonmel power line public meeting on Monday night next

A public meeting will be held at the Monroe Sports Complex, a couple of miles outside Clonmel on the Fethard Road, next Monday, 21st at 8pm to inform communities across South Tipperary about the proposed 1km-wide route corridor options being considered by EirGrid for its new power line and how it may affect you.

A public meeting will be held at the Monroe Sports Complex, a couple of miles outside Clonmel on the Fethard Road, next Monday, 21st at 8pm to inform communities across South Tipperary about the proposed 1km-wide route corridor options being considered by EirGrid for its new power line and how it may affect you.

The €500 million overhead power line will be carried by 45 metre-high pylons.

The meeting is being organised by Cllr. Tom Acheson and Cllr. Michael Murphy.

Two of the proposed route corridor options pass through South Tipperary.

One goes through communities surrounding Carrick and the other passes near the Mitchelstown Caves, Ballyporeen, north of Burncourt, south of Cahir and north of Clonmel.
