BALLYBACON/GRANGE GAA CLUB
For the last few weeks, on Tuesday evenings, large numbers of the boys and girls of the area have been going to hurling training in beautiful Goatenbridge. The U6s, U8s and U10s are doing really well with their many coaches and helpers. It’s great to see so many parents coming along and enjoying the sunshine and the chats. The boys and girls are turning into fine young hurlers, especially those who practice every day... both sides!
The player of the week awards are given not just to the best hurlers but to players who are listening well, working hard to improve, being kind, attending regularly, etc. Each evening of course the awards are deserved by many, many of the young hurlers there but only 3 can be chosen. This week they are as follows: U6: John English, U8: Neil Gallagher, U10: Jack Keating. APRIL CLUB DRAW: 1. Albert Keating, 2. George Mason, 3. Jackie Murphy. The May monthly draw takes place at our monthly committee meeting!
COMMITTEE MEETING: Next committee meeting takes place on this Thursday, May 5 at 9pm in the club meeting room, Goatenbridge. All committee members are requested to attend!
TIPPERARY MINORS: We would like to congratulate our own clubman, Tom Kirwan who wore the number 12 jersey with Tipperary Minors against Waterford last week. Tom is part of the team who are trying to bring Munster honours last won in 2007 back to the County. Although defeated by Waterford on a score of 2-16 to 1-13 they play Cork this week-end! Best of luck Tom!
UNDER 16 SOUTH TEAM
Gerry Cronin and Tom Kirwan were part of the South team who played in a recent blitz competition with the other divisions in the County. They had a win over the Mid, beaten by the West, with the North winning out the competition. Well done boys!!
