GALTEE ROVERS - ST PECAUN’S

There was no adult activity last week but we hope to have a senior football championship game against Aherlow this weekend. Elsewhere we have another minor hurling game at home this Wednesday night while our under 16 football combo will have played their semi-final by now. On Sunday afternoon the Galtee/Aherlow under 12 outfit are due to play the league semi-final in Cappawhite and we wish them all the best while their under 14 counterparts have the opening round of the championship on Saturday afternoon.

County Draw

County Draw members should have received their 2010-11 receipts by now and remember that the new draw kicks off on May 20 with a star prize of a Skoda Superb or €30,000. There is a total prize fund of half a million euro over the year and 50% of the proceeds stays in your local club. Please support.

LADIES FOOTBALL

The championship is in full swing now and we have U12 , U14 and U16 teams participating in all competitions. We would like to congratulate Katie Quirke, Rachel Moloney and Aoife Nugent who have been selected for the county U14 team. The girls have played two games already against Limerick and Kerry and won both games. This is great news for the Club. To have players representing the club at county level shows the club is doing a good job and there is football talent in the parish. Also our junior team is still in the developmental stage and we would like to see more girls at the training sessions which are on every Friday evening from 7pm to 8pm in GAA field. A coach and trainer are in place so all we need is more ladies to get involved to make a panel of players, So come on ladies dust off those football boots and why not give it a go and maybe ye might even enjoy it The month of May is always a busy month for football but it also that time of year when all girls have to pay their Registration. The Club is organising a Registration night on Wednesday, May 9, in the GAA centre at 8pm. All girls who want to play football have to pay a registration fee. Please put this date in your diary.
