Cahir Tidy Towns committee members have been busy on litter picking and now that the gate is hanging in the Abbey Cemetery they will get around to painting it once a few fine days come.

A lot of work has gone into the cemetery and great credit is due to Seamus Shealy and his efforts in grass cutting the area.

Tidy Towns have been working with the Community Liaison Officer to enhance the Woodview area and should see results in the next couple of weeks.

Work on the parochial Hall will commence shortly and minimum disturbance is expected here. We may need to get involved in a clean up as items tend to blow from these sites when they are work in progress.

The big event for February is the table quiz to promote colour in town and quizmaster John Costigan will have a round of questions on Cahir (be warned). This will be held in the Shamrock lounge on Friday, February 24, starting at 9pm sharp. The quiz is open to all and is €E20 per team and a window box or hanging basket on each entry. It’s a win win situation and we would hope that all business would support. They will be hung in May so that we have plenty colour for the summer. A second window box can be ordered on the night for €E20.

We will open this offer to any residents who would like to avail of it through contact with the Enterprise center c/o Tidy Towns Offer.

Please keep up the good work in the off season.
