BallingarryTidy Towns 2012

Tractor Run & Vintage CarsA Tractor Run and Vintage Cars is being organised, and will take place in Ballingarry on Sunday 29th April 2012 at 1 o clock. Admission is €10 per entry. Refreshments will be provided afterwards in “Jimmy’s” Bar / Lounge. It is being run to raise funds for Ballingarry Tidy Towns Committee, who are now actively involved in a massive clean-up of the Village and its surrounds. Thank you Brian for the idea and your support and assistance. A lot of improvements have been made to date, but as in all situations it costs money to rent equipment, petrol to run them, buy paint, etc. All the work done is voluntary. Please support.

Meeting. We had a great turnout at our meeting on Wed. night last 11th April in “Jimmy’s” Lounge, Ballingarry. It was decided to hit the highways and byeways again on Saturday morning for another massive clean-up operation. The response was that more than 25 people came out at 10am to pick up rubbish, do some strimming, powerwash buildings and footpaths, paint walls and houses, do hedge / verge cutting, etc. Well done to all. New volunteers are always welcome. If you have a strimmer or hedge cutter, bring it with you. We’ll have petrol to put into it.

Ballingarry is now officially entered in this year’s Tidy Town’s Competition. Judging will commence in the middle of May. It is up to each Community Member to play their part in making this a success. It is not just the Village that will be judged, all approach roads 3km from the Ballingarry signs will be judged on also. We will be meeting at the Community Centre every Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Please come along and help with the clean-up. For further information you can log onto Ballingarry Tidy Towns on facebook.

Senior Social Club: all are welcome to the Community Centre on Thursday next April 19th @2.30pm when the Mullinahone club members will visit for the evening.

Lisnamrock Parents Council would like to sincerely thank all those who supported the recent Easter Raffle, by buying tickets, or donating prizes. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
