Killenaule Moyglass Ladies Soccer - The Senior Div 1 got under way last weekend and the Girls got off to a great start with a 3-0 win away to St Kevins. Killenaule piled on all the pressure from the start and Amiee Maloney and Shauna Hayes created some good chances but failed to score. Erin Slattery and Michelle Meagher totally controlled mid field but had to wait 2 minutes before half time for Katie O’Regan to finish with a excellent shot.
The second half continued with Killenaule dominating all over the pitch and Katie O’Regan beat the off side trap after 10 minutes to but Killenaule 2- 0 up. St Kevins had their best spell after that goal but Eidin Murphy, Emer Barry and Aine O’Donovan dealt very well with the pressure. The insurance score came with 10 minutes left when Roisin Trehy put a nice ball through for Edel O’Dwyer who finished very well.
Next weekend we are at home against Clonmel Celtic.

A good week on the playing field in both hurling and football. Our 14s kicked us off with an easy win over Moyle Rovers. This team is moving nicely and will be challenging for honours at the business end of the season. We can’t single out any stars as we were on top all over the field. Our 16s had their third win of the campaign with a clear cut win with fine performances from Luke Ryan, Jack Gleeson, Domnic Blake, Pa Hannigan, Jamie Carey, Paudie Feehan and James Doyle. The minors had their second win of the campaign with a facile win over Ardfinnan. We were on top in most sectors but there were top displays from T Keavney, O Butler, D Fogarty. J Yates, J Feehan, A O’Connell, G Henry, and A Laslett. Our seniors kept up their unbeaten run with a draw against Kilsheelan. Although we struggled for possession we still posted a pretty good tally of 13pts. We defended well throughout and fought to the bitter end and were rewarded with the equaliser from Gregory. Best on the day was Ml Fitzgerald, S Browne, Mouse, J Meagher, Ml Doyle and man of the match Bubbles. We played an U21 hurling challenge against Gortnahoe who proved no match and we looked far too sharp. Stiffer tasks lie ahead. Our Junior hurlers got their first win of the year in a challenge match against Clonoulty. There was a great turn out and competition for places is hotting up. Best on the night were S Hannigan J Berry A Dorney P O Connor Mush K Browne and the returning K Bergin.
To Gregory Henry and Jimmy Feehan who played starring roles when the Tipp Minor footballers beat Kerry in the Munster Championship. Also involved with County teams at present are M O’Donnell and Paddy Codd with the senior footballers and Bubbles with the U21 Hurlers. Keep it up boys.
There are still a few players who haven’t paid their subscription and we ask them to do so ASAP.
