In a fiercely competitive Mixed Competition featuring teams from Laois, Kildare, Kerry, Galway and Mayo played in Mary I, Ayle played a total of ten sets of spikeball. The final was a tense affair against Spa NS, the Kerry champions. Having won one set apiece Ayle triumphed in the deciding set 15-13 to record a famous win. Congratulations to all concerned, the coaches, Pat Buckley and Seán Ó hAonghusa, the supporters, the school squad members from the other school teams, the parents and the team members on the day. It was a wonderful all-round team performance.
