END OF AN ERA
The Convent of Mercy, New Inn, is sadly closing after 135 years of great service to the community. To honour the Sisters who gave such commitment to the parish and surrounding areas, the parishioners are organising a Mass of Thanksgiving in New Inn Church on Thursday, November 29, starting at 7pm. This will be a concelebrated mass presided over by His Grace, Archbishop Dermot Clifford and involving present and former priests of the parish. As many of the Mercy Sisters as possible from the diocese will be in attendance and all past pupils and teachers are invited to attend. There will then be a reception in the local hall - NICC- where everyone can reminisce with their former teachers and classmates over a nice cup of tea and refreshments. A wonderful evening is anticipated. A fitting farewell to a Religious Order who will be deeply missed.
