Brian Boru’s Camogie Fun Day

This will take place in Ballylooby GAA Field on Sunday, March 20, from 3.00pm. Registration of players for 2011 will take place; County Senior Camogie players will attend for coaching; Refreshments for adults and children

Brian Borus Ladies Football - tribute to Frank O’Brien

Last Friday night Brian Borus hosted an evening to celebrate the wonderful contribution Frank O’Brien has made to Ladies Football and the GAA. Sinead Norris (Chairperson of Brian Borus) welcomed everyone and she spoke of the commitment and dedication that Frank has shown to the club. Tommy Campbell (Vice chairman of Tipperary Ladies Football County Board) spoke of how Frank’s work has brought the county to a new level of football with the county and club now playing at senior grade. Barry O’Brien (Chairman of Tipperary County Board) complimented Frank and his achievements with the club. Margaret Quigg (Vice Principal of St. Mary’s N.S.) thanked Frank for the kindness he has shown to the pupils past and present. Orla Fleming then presented Frank with a photo montage, a framed jersey from the All-Ireland Intermediate club final and a cheque which was made up of very generous contributions from people who had the privilege of working with him. Frank spoke and thanked everyone. The club would like to thank everyone who turned up on the night and everyone who helped out to make the night a success. Well done Frank. Thanks for all you have given to Brian Borus. We hope to see you on the sideline for many more years to come.

Hospice Tractor Run

Ardfinnan Ballybacon/Grange Hospice Committee are holding their seventh tractor run in aid of South Tipperary Hospice and the big day this year is Sunday 8th May This is always a great family day out and supporting a very important cause. Your support as always will be much appreciated.

Thanks for Special Card Game

There was a very good attendance in St. Paul’s Community Centre, Clogheen on Wednesday, March 9. All the profits went towards the Joe Doyle Fire Fund. Thanks to everybody who supported the event, donated prizes for the raffle and not forgetting those who prepared the refreshments and organised the card drive at St. Pauls, It is much appreciated.

Ballylooby Set Dancing

Every Monday night, set dancing takes place in Ballylooby Hall from: 7.30pm to 9pm, Great exercise and a bit of craic. No experience necessary.

Keep Fit Classes in Duhill

Keep fit classes will continue for the next six nights on a Monday’s 8pm to 9pm and the next four weeks on a Wednesday 8pm to 9pm in Duhill Hall. All welcome male and female. Further details from 086-3846839

The Year Of The Hiker

Clogheen Drama Group are busy rehearsing the play “The Year Of The Hiker” by John B Keane and directed by Liam Wall, the first production of the newly formed Clogheen Drama Group which will be staged on Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26, in St Pauls Community Centre Clogheen. Church Information:

As this Wednesday, March 16, is the vigil mass for St. Patrick’s Day mass in Ballylooby Church at 7.30pm. Usual mass times on Thursday St. Patricks Day: Duhill Church 9am and Ballylooby 10.30am.

The Stations

The stations have now commenced in the parish and the areas not having a station including the autumn station will be held in Ballylooby on Friday, March 18, at 7.30pm and Duhill Wednesday, March 23, at 7.30pm Details on notice boards in both churches.

Junior Hurling County League

Knockavilla Kickhams 2-15

We travelled to Dundrum for our first outing of the season and enjoyed a good open game of hurling on a lovely spring morning. However Ballylooby/Castlegrace were slow to start and allowed the more youthful Knockavilla Kickhams an early lead. In the second half we battled well and only were beaten in the end by two points.  Training continues this week on Tuesday night at 7.30 pm sharp and also on Thursday morning at 11.00 am

Under 16

Our under 16’s got there season underway on Saturday afternoon against Killenaule in Ballylooby  Training for Under8, 10 & 12 starts next Sunday morning at the field at 11 o clock.
