GARDEN CLUB COFFEE MORNING
This Saturday, August 6, Doug Haskell, the chairman of the Skeheenarinky Garden Club, and his lovely wife Wendy, are hosting a Complimentary Coffee Morning at their home in Coolrue, Skeheenarinky.
This is a nice opportunity to bring along your entry forms and fees for the upcoming Skeheenarinky Flower Show, as well as having a complimentary coffee and cake at Doug and Wendy’s beautifully restored eighteenth century farmhouse. From 10am onwards.
Follow the signs! Don’t forget to bring those entry forms as this is the last date on which entries can be accepted for the show on the 13th.
After 45 years of loyal service, Pat Treacy of Skeheenarinky has retired from Dairygold. We wish Pat and his wife Brigid, many happy years of retirement. Pat expects that Brigid will have plenty of projects around the house and garden to keep him occupied, so there is no danger of him getting bored.
FLOWER SHOW SOCIAL EVENING
There was a lovely gathering at Jacksons on Saturday night last for the Flower and Garden Club’s social evening. Old friends, lots of delicious food from the kind local ladies, good music, and lots of raffle prizes. All the ingredients of a good night out. The music was supplied to the delight of the crowd by Tom O’Brien with contributions from many of the local talented singers. The hard-working barman for the night was commented on by many who were very impressed with the service.
VINTAGE CLUB PRESENTATION
On Saturday evening, 30 July, a generous presentation was made to St. Teresa’s Hospital Clogheen by the Skeheenarinky Vintage Club. The matron - Sr. Aine – accepted the cheque which amounted to €E2,261 – on behalf of the hospital. The money was the proceeds of a recent vintage run organised by the Club.
