The people of the parish and surrounding areas were extremely shocked and saddened to hear last week of the tragic death as a result of a quad bike accident of Fergus Condon, aged 16, Croughlooney. Our sincere sympathies are extended to his mother Eileen, father Joe, his sister Emma and his brother Will. Fergus was grandson of Mary Condon and the late Billy Condon, The Halfway House. Fergus was a Junior cert student in Dungarvan CBS and words cannot convey the loss felt from Fergus’s untimely passing by his family, his friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing this fine young man. We extend our sincere sympathies to his family, all relatives and the many, many friends of Fergus. May he rest in peace.
FIANNA FAIL CUMMAN A.G.M
The Captain Jack O’Mara Touraneena Fianna Fail Cumman annual general meeting will be held next Monday, June 17, in the Community Centre, Touraneena, at 9pm. James Tobin M.C.C. will be our special guest. All members and new members are welcome. The officers of the Cumman would like to thank all who paid in to the Fianna Fail National church gate collection recently.
The recently announced boundary change in the Lismore electoral area means that Touraneena and Modeligo are now moved to the Comeragh area. Great disappointment is felt in Touraneena and the surrounding areas as the boundary change means we lose our very hard working councillor James Tobin. James has been very good to our Cumman and to our area. We wish him the best of luck in his new area of Dungarvan/Lismore C.C. and we take this opportunity to thank James for all his hard work over the years.

Thank year you to all the volunteers who recently mobilised at short notice to plant flowers. The village was also swept and the rubbish from the recent clean up removed just in time for the annual 5K run.
