CLCG NAOMH PÁDRAIG

Pride of place this week must go to the u11 hurlers of Drangan National School who defeated Leugh NS by 10-01 to 1-0 in the County Final of the primary schools’ seven-a-side hurling played in Semple Stadium on Thursday last. Man of the match was the second youngest player on the Drangan team Aidan Fitzgerald. We would like to thank teacher Charlene Cooney for the work she has done for hurling, music and several other activities during her time in Drangan School. We wish Charlene well in her new post in Drom National School outside Thurles.

Last weekend was a busy one for Niamh Keane of Cappagh Cloneen. On Saturday Niamh travelled to Birr where she helped Tipperary u14 Ladies Footballers to victory over Leitrim in the All-Ireland Semi Final. On Sunday Niamh was in The Gaelic Grounds in Limerick lining out with the Tipperary Primary Schools Camogie team against Limerick. Niamh is the third generation of Keanes to wear the Blue and Gold. We wish Niamh and her team mates the best of luck in the U14 Ladies Football All Ireland Final.

Our junior hurlers played their second game of the championship last Saturday night when they took on Clonmel Óg in Fethard. In what was a tight game throughout our lads just about held out in the end for a 3 point win on a scoreline of 3-09 to 1-12. Team: John Moroney, Kieran Clancy, Colm Dunne, Paddy Moroney, Nicky Kearney, Tony O’Brien, Dermot Molloy (captain), Shane Gorey, Conor Barry, Robbie Meagher, Aaron Cronin, Neil Gleeson, Brendan Gleeson, Robbie McCormack, Richard Needham.
