Double bill of Swan hurling matches in Clonmel this Saturday

The Junior hurlers take on Fethard at 5.30pm in the same venue on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Swan Intermediate footballers defeated Ballyporeen by three points last Wednesday. This leaves the Swan team with four points after three games.

There are seven teams in the group so the Swan need to win some of their four remaining games to secure a semi-final place.

The U-14s played a challenge game against Moycarkey Borris on The Green last Saturday and were unlucky to lose by a few points after conceding a late goal. Both teams played some outstanding hurling and there was some great scores. The game was great preparation for the team’s upcoming championship.

The U-8 hurlers won all their three games against Mullinahone A & B teams and Kilsheelan in a blitz in Mullinahone last Saturday. The Club thanks CJ Kickhams GAA Club for the invitation.

The Swan Club wishes happy birthday to Tommy O’ Neill, who has been a great servant to the club over the years. He received a lifetime achievement award last year for his great work and support for the Swan Club throughout his life. Tommy also gave the Club’s senior hurlers a great lift earlier in the year when visited Davin Park to see the Swan play the Davins. The Swan Club hopes to see Tommy at many more matches in the future.

The Club congratulates both Carrick Gaelscoil and Green School on winning county titles last week in Semple Stadium. The Swan Club was well represented on both teams and the Man Of The Match award in both finals went to Swan players, namely Ewan Ryan of the Gaelscoil and Zach Murphy of the Green School.

Kevin Lanigan was a member of the Tipperary Intermediate hurling panel that defeated Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds last Sunday.

The Swan Club Juvenile Flag Days take place this Friday, June 14 and on Saturday, June 15. All support is very much appreciated.

The Club’s Juvenile Lotto jackpot of €9,250 jackpot was won by John Byrne of 49 St John’s, Carrick-on-Suir last week. Numbers drawn were 4, 9, 17, 23.

Eight match three winners won €30 each. This week’s jackpot prize is €2,000.
