Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society’s spring show “All Shook Up” will be staged at the Strand Theatre from March 3 to 10.
The cast has been busy and has had three weeks of intense choral rehearsals so far with more to come after Christmas.
Rehearsals are under the guidance of the show’s Chorus Master Eamon O’Malley.
The Society welcomes Eamon to Carrick-on-Suir for his first show.
The production team of Director Liam Butler, Musical Director Fergal Carroll and Choreographer Sandra Power have been busy holding auditions over the last week or so.
Finally, after much nail biting and sleepless nights by those who auditioned in the hope of landing that big part, white smoke emerged from the Theatre last Thursday morning.
Chad will be played by Michael Raggett, Natalie is Louise Mulcahy, Dennis is played by Ray Nolan and Sandra is to be played by Siobhan Grace.
The rolw of Jim will be played by Audie Murphy, Catherine Hogan is to play Sylvia, Nikki Ahern will be Lorraine, James Dooley will be Dean, Matilda will be played by Phyllis Cooney and Sheriff Earl will be Seamus Power.
The Musical Society wishes all its patrons, sponsors and supporters a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year and thanks them for their support during the last year.
Meanwhile, the Society’s Remembrance Christmas tree at the front of the Strand Theatre is festooned with ribbons of remembrance and sparkling with Christmas lights, but there is still some room on it for you to remember a loved one who won’t make it home for Christmas.
All donations for hanging a ribbon on Carrick-on-Suir Musical Society’s Remembrance Tree go to South Tipperary Hospice Homecare Team.
A reminder that on Christmas Eve, the Musical Society’s Performing Arts Academy, which boasts a membership of more than 100 young boys and girls will perform a Christmas concert called “A Christmas Eve with your Family”.
Meanwhile, the following were re-elected to the Musical Society’s committee at the recent agm: Sandra Power, Fiona Bartley, Michael O’Hara, Alice Hunt, and elected to the committee for the first time were Marian Grace, and Ger Dunphy.
The Society thanks those members who were unsuccessful and were not re-elected and offers a sincere thank you for your work on the committee over the last number of years.
