New facelift for the Sports Complex – Marvellous work is going ahead at present on the Sports Complex by the local GAA club. Everyone is looking forward to the finished work. Well done to all those who helped to improve with the new look.
Thanks to all those who travelled to Knock taking part in the Cashel and Emily pilgrimage on Sunday, August 4. Five of our pilgrims took part in the Mass in the Basilica: Kathleen Cormack reading, Freddie Campion and Angela O’Sullivan Offertory Gifts, Kathleen Simpson choir, Lily Barrett rosary. Thanks to Canon Ryan and Fr Thomas O’Connell for their help, to Mary and her team at Gleeson’s restaurant, Roscommon, who gave great service on our way to Knock and on return journey, to Glasheen Coaches and bus driver Frances.
The local Garden Club has had a very enjoyable summer with visits to many well known gardens travelling by coach to far away gardens such as Tourin House Gadens Cappoquin, Beechwood Garden Glanmire, Powerscourt Gardens and the Wicklow National Garden Exhibition. Local gardens visited were Golden Garden, Mildred Stokes, Kilurney, and Joan St John’s garden (local member).
Meetings resume on second Tuesday each month. Next meeting September 10.
