Musical Society back in action for autumn

The cast of "West Side Story" have resumed rehearsals.

Carrick Musical Society members are starting rehearsals his week for the inaugural Carrick-on-Suir Music Theatre Festival next month.

Cast members of the Society’s last show, “West Side Story”, will be required to attend the rehearsals for the Society’s entry “The Best of West Side Story”.

The Society congratulates the Festival committee for organising this wonderful event.

An official launch of the Society’s Halloween panto “Cinderella” takes place in the Strand Theatre on Thursday, August 29 at 8pm. Anyone interested in joining the Society should attend this launch.

Meanwhile, the Society’s Performing Arts Academy for children aged 5 to 15 resumes on September 12 from 5pm to 7pm. Registration takes place at the Strand Theatre on Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6 from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm. The Society in association with the Irish Board of Speech & Drama will offer a speech, drama and communications exam for members this year.

Academy students will star in “Cinderella” and can also audition for the Society’s 2014 show next March.
