The Cahir Tidy Towns group who regularly pick litter were hit by illegal dumping at Tincurry last week.

This is disheartening to the dedicated people who pick litter, mainly due to carelessness and ignorance of others. The group understands the challenging financial circumstances of modern Ireland but they have had a used electrical collection, a waste paint collection and many residents group have had free skip days to combat dumping.

The group have been strimming after the bit of growth and need to start on weeds and sweeping over the next few weeks. They meet at Kedra Roundabout this Wednesday to help the local resident who keeps the grass cut on this roundabout. We thank David Bourke for his continued maintenance on the Knockagh Roundabout.

The local awards night for Tidy Towns will be on Friday, September 13, in the Shamrock Lounge. All welcome.
