Mitchelstown Junior A footballers took the Cavanagh’s Fermoy Div 1 FL title at Fermoy on Monday evening. Their opponents Ballyclough got off to a very good start and helped by an early goal they led 1-4 to 0-3. At half time Ballyclough held a 1-5 to 0-4 advantage. ‘Town did very well in the second half with Ballyclough having just two points. They were deadlocked at full time 1-7 to

0- 10. In extra time Mitchelstown did well and won out by 0-15 to 1-10. Team

The death occurred suddenly at his residence Cooleregan Mitchelstown on Thursday July 12 of T J Clancy. The late T J in his mid 40s was a popular member of the farming community and well known locally. His death came as a huge shock to his family and to all who knew him. His popularity was borne out in the very large and represented attendance at the removal on Saturday evening from O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home Kilbehenny to Mitchelstown Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday. Interment took place to Brigown New Cemetery. To his wife Marie, son Joseph, daughter Aoife,

mother Ann, sisters Mary, Ann, Eleanor, Isabelle, and Aisling, aunt Sr. Mary Borgia, father in law Joe, sister in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE SUSAN EVANS

The death occurred on July 8 at her residence ‘Haul Fryn’ Church St of Susan Evans (Nee Daly). The late Susan was predeceased by her husband Tom. Funeral Service took place at St George’s Church with burial to the adjoining cemetery. To her brother Joe, sister in law Doreen, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE BREDA SEYMOUR

The death occurred suddenly on Thursday July 12 of Breda Seymour Nee Lynch) King St Mitchelstown. The late Breda was in her late 50s and a popular member of the local community. There was a great sense of shock at her sudden death. Her popularity was borne out in the large and represented attendance at the removal on Sunday night from O’Brien’s Funeral Home to the Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Monday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To her John, son Kenneth, daughters Jennifer and Pauline, brothers Denis, Thomas, sisters Kathleen (Kiely) Eileen (O’Donovan) Noreen (McInerney) Mary (Desmond) brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces relatives neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
