Accompanying Ollie were Maura Creaney, Michael Barry, Dan Condren, Winnie Flynn, JJ Bergin, Marianne and Padraig Cleary, Tom Cummins , Josephine Tobin, Joan Quinn, Tom and Joan Lysaght and Tony Madden.

Conditions were unfavourable with mist, cold and wind throughout the day. However, the group pushed on to complete the full traverse in a very respectable time of 10 hours.

Meanwhile, bookings are now being taken for the 15th annual Autumn Charity Challenge in aid of visually impaired people, which takes place among the scenery of the Burren.

It offers all comers, of all fitness levels, an opportunity to sample the very best this world famous area.

This a great opportunity to explore the Burren on a long distance walk or a nature walk exploring the flora and fauna, or with an introduction to caving and rockclimbing.

Finally, it’s back to the Club’s normal 4 to 5 hour outing on Sunday next with a high-level mountain walk leaving from Cashel Fire Station at 11am on July 22.
