The ultimate test of fitness for Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers’ hardiest trekkers is the annual length of Galtee Mountain Challenge, which this year was led by Ollie Walsh.
Accompanying Ollie were Maura Creaney, Michael Barry, Dan Condren, Winnie Flynn, JJ Bergin, Marianne and Padraig Cleary, Tom Cummins , Josephine Tobin, Joan Quinn, Tom and Joan Lysaght and Tony Madden.
Conditions were unfavourable with mist, cold and wind throughout the day. However, the group pushed on to complete the full traverse in a very respectable time of 10 hours.

This a great opportunity to explore the Burren on a long distance walk or a nature walk exploring the flora and fauna, or with an introduction to caving and rockclimbing.
If you would like to participate the entire weekend, including hotel accommodation, costs just E159.
