There will be a health seminar in the Firgrove Hotel this Thursday, September 27. Fergus Heffernan (esteemed Psychologist) will speak to the public on improving our mental well being. This event is a joint initiative between Mitchelstown Community Forum Ltd and the local Mitchelstown Family Coordinating Group. Other attractions on the night will be an exhibition of local community and voluntary services. These may be of interest to people looking to join a new group or find out information regarding the vast array of voluntary groups in the town. The event is free and open to all.

The death occurred on September 18 of Marie Thornton (Nee Crowley) Dublin and late of Mitchelstown. The late Marie resided with her late husband Irial (Manager Mitchelstown Creameries) and family at Ballinwillin, Mitchelstown. To her daughters Gwen, Gabby, Miriam, Christine, Sonia, son Peter, grandchildren Sara, Alex, Sandra and Peter, sons in law Declan and Rafa, sincere sympathies. Funeral Mass was held in Dublin, on Friday followed by private cremation.
