Munitir na Tire Community Link in association with South Tipperary Development Company provides information and support on the following: Training and Educational Opportunities for the Unemployed, IT Training, CV preparation & Interview Skills, Services for Older People, Enterprise Development, Funding for Community Projects & Digibox Project. COMPASS EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SERVICE

Fás CE placement available at Slieveardagh Centre Killenaule. Secretary required for general office duties. Doing accounts and wages for the local CE Scheme. SLIEVEARDAGH CULTURAL AND ENTERPRISE CENTRE

The centre opens five days per week from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Friday; closed 1pm to 2pm each day. The following office services are available: photocopying, colourcopying, typing, laminating, binding, dance / debs tickets etc, raffle tickets (books), posters, business cards, booklets, invitations, gift vouchers, sponsor cards and faxing. Excellent rates on all the above. We type essays, assignments etc only €2 per typed page. A lot of our prices are now at reduced rates.

Internet Café: Broadband internet access is now available to the public in the Slieveardagh Centre – all new computers. Only €2 for one hour.

Room Rental available in Slieveardagh Centre Killenaule. Computers and Projector available as part of the room rental. Tea / coffee facilities also. Only €10 per hour.

Slieveardagh Courses Autumn 2012

Beginner bodhran lessons for adults - These classes are very popular and a great night out as well as learning a new skill. Adults will learn how to play the bodhran by a qualified music teacher. The classes run on a Tuesday night for one hour for five weeks. Classes commencing on Tuesday, October 2, at 7pm. Bodhrans supplied – early booking advised. Only one place remaining. Was €60/ now €50.

Advanced bodhran lessons for adults - These classes are being held due to popular demand. This is a follow on class for those who participated in the beginner classes or for people who have basic skills and would like to develop them further. The classes run for on a Tuesday night for one hour for five weeks. Classes commencing on Tuesday, October 2, at 8pm. Bodhrans supplied – early booking advised only one place remaining. Classes €50.

Computers for the terrified - This course teaches participants from the very beginning of computing; from turning on the computer to the basics of Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer and Email. The course runs at a gentle pace and there are no exams. The course runs on a Wednesday night for 10 weeks, two hour weekly sessions (7pm to 9pm). Course commences on Wednesday, October 3. Was €120 now €100. Only four places remain.

Banjo classes for beginners - Due to popular demand, banjo classes will commence on Thursday, October 4. Adults will learn how to play the banjo with a qualified teacher. Must have own banjo. The lessons will run on a Thursday night for 10 weeks – two hourly sessions (7pm to 9pm). Cost €100.

Afterschool Programme. Computers – Monday, October 1, 3.30pm to 4.30pm (six to eight year olds) - Cost for five weeks €20. Children will learn all aspects of computing from turning on the computer to working with Microsoft Paint and Word, printing, saving etc with a qualified tutor. Only three places remaining.

Bodhran Lessons – commencing Tuesday 2nd October 3.30pm – 4.30pm (6-12 year olds) - Cost for 5 weeks €20.00 Children will learn how to play the Bodhran by a Qualified Music Teacher. Bodhrans supplied. 2 places remaining

KILLENAULE LIBRARY - SUMMER READING TREE

Could all children who took part in the Summer Reading Tree return their forms as soon as possible to the Library. Opening times Monday and Wednesday 10am to 1pm / 2pm to 5pm. Presentation of certificates and medals will take place on Wednesday, October 3, from 7pm to 8pm.
