Eighty-nine cyclists went for an energetic spin in the Bobby Power Commemorative Cycle and raised €3,790 for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

There was a great turn out for the charity cycle in aid of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust despite the ran on the day. Fifty cyclists completed the 100km route and 39 did the 50km route.

The organisers thank all the cyclists, the catering staff under the supervision of Tara O’Donnell, the marshalls, who braved the elements and stood out at various corners and junctions and to everyone who helped in any way to make the day such a success.

Also a big thank you to the event’s sponsors, Super Valu, Carrick-on-Suir, Better Deal Cash and Carry, Clonmel, Iverk Produce Piltown, Glenpatrick Springwater Company, Clonmel and to Carrick Swan Club and Rathgormack Hiking Centre for the use of their premises.

Meanwhile, if you know of any young person, who would like to travel to Lourdes next Easter please contact Marie Therese Connolly at (051) 646074 for an application form.
