The Men’s Shed group at Knockanrawley Resource centre launched an impressive 2014 calendar in celebration of their work at their annual Christmas dinner.
The 2014 calendar comprises of photographs taken by Men’s Shedder, Enda Guerin, of plants in his allotment and in the organic garden at KRC. “The hardest part of making the calendar was choosing only twelve photographs out of all the ones I took,” said Enda. “We decided to use photographs of plants that attract insects, have a medicinal purpose, were part of my allotment harvest or were just plain beautiful.”
The calendar came about as a result of a photography course completed by the men and an interest in gardening, specifically for Enda.Timmy White, senior member of the Men’s Shed group said, “The idea of the calendar is the perfect result of marrying the creative with nature.”
The calendar was launched at the annual Christmas dinner that was made by the men as a result of a cookery course they had attended at KRC throughout December.
Men’s Shed leader, Johnny Forrester, said, “I feel privileged to be involved in the Men’s Shed group this year. It’s so great to see everyone working together.”
