On Saturday, December 8, at 8pm, the official turning on of Christmas tree and street lights will take place. Everyone is looking forward to seeing our planted Christmas tree in place at Main Street Car Park all lit up. Thanks to the sponsor and the team of workers who prepared the permanent home for the tree. Music, food and refreshments available on the night. Asking all residents in town and around to get into the festive spirit by decorating their shops and houses by helping to give a lift to our place.


On Wednesday, December 12, the Annual Christmas Party will take place at the Anner Hotel Thurles. Bus leaves St. Mary’s Hall at 1.30pm. Dinner at 2.30pm sharp. Afternoon of music, song and dance. SRD staff and committee Christmas Party will take place on December 14 at the Anner Hotel.


Support needed for Charity Shop in aid of SVP. Raffle will be held at the shop with many prizes. Anyone with unwanted gifts would be appreciated, to support the Christmas effort. New stock on rails suitable for winter wear.

Juvenile Presentation Night - for winning U14 and U16 teams takes place on Thursday, December 13, 1t 8pm in the Sports Complex.


Saturday was the last night of the underage soccer programme, it will resume again on January 12 for another 10 weeks, any girls between 6 and 14 welcome. Thanks to all who made the last 10 weeks happen, John, Cora and Hannah Stapleton, Ellen Walsh, P J Hayes, Roisin O’Regan and Mark Dowling. The U18 team play Piltown away on Saturday. The Senior Munster Cup is at University of Limerick on Saturday, December 15, at 1.45pm against Wilton of Cork.
