ANNUAL SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal are holding their annual Christmas concert TODAY (Wednesday, December 5) at 12.45pm and on Thursday, December 6, at 8pm in the convent hall. The matinee 12.45pm show is running this year for the first time. We invite all members of our community to join us on these dates for two hours of great entertainment. Entry €5 per adult. Lots of great prizes to be won in the raffle. Also the Parent’s Council are organising a children’s disco for all children, to take place in New Inn Community Centre on December 21 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
NEW INN BOYS SCHOOL PARENT’S COUNCIL
Will be holding their annual Cake Sale on Sunday, December 16, from 11.30am to 1pm (after 11 o’clock mass) in aid of much needed funds for the school. We are looking for people to bake cakes and drop them into the Boys School on Sunday Morning from 10.30am onwards. All are very welcome, we are looking forward to seeing you all, please support.
KNOCKGRAFFON COURSING CLUB
Knockgraffon coursing club held its annual three-day meeting on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 23 to 25. There was a great crowd and great credit is due to the members for all their hard work in running a very successful meeting. Lough Kent Stakes winner was Killara Impact owned by Philip O’Keefe and Joseph O’Brien, Ballydoyle. Mortlestown Stakes and Barron Memorial Perpetual Cup was won by Movealongpat owned by Denis Barry. New Inn Stakes and Harry Hickey Perpetual Cup kindly sponsored by Jimmy Ferncomb, Gain Agent and won by Riverside Pansy and owned by Tomas O’Murchu. Knockgraffon Cup sponsored by Mary Frances Barron Bar and Lounge, New Inn was won by Bluebird Razor, owned by Joe Gunn, Lisselton. The Derby Trial Stake & W.P. Fogarty Cup sponsored by Rachel Wheeler, Greyhound Trainer, Golden, was won by Mr.Big owned by The-Coalition-Syndicate. The Oaks Trail Stake & Smokey Flavour Cup kindly sponsored by Paul & Eileen Coffey, The Rovers Inn was won by Moat Missy owned by Francis Fielding, Mooncoin. The highlight of the final day and that which brings a lot of interest is the Strumble Perpetual Cup Working Members Stake, kindly sponsored by Pat Dalton & Tommy Prendergast, Dangan. This was won by Shauna’s Matty owned by Mairead Moloney. The John Moloney All Age Bitch Stake & Perpetual trophy sponsored by the Moloney Family, New Inn was won by Awe and Wonder owned by Flynn family, Tarbert. Knockgraffon Coursing Club would like to thank everyone who has supported them during the year and would like to congratulate all the winners.
SEAN GHAEL AWARDS
Congratulations to all the Sean Ghael Award winners who were presented with their awards by GAA Trustee and former Munster Council Chairman, Jimmy O’Gorman, at Semple Stadium on Sunday, November 18. Fr. Seamus Gardiner spoke on behalf of the recipients including Tommy Buckley, President of the Rockwell Rovers GAA club who has served his club with distinction. We congratulate all recipients on their awards. It was great to see them honoured in front of their families, friends and club representatives. The switching-on of the lights on the living Christmas tree at the Grotto will be held this Saturday, December 8, at 6.45pm (ie before Mass). Please note change of time.
Just a reminder that the Senior citizens Christmas party will be held this year in Cahir House on Sunday, January 6. This promises to be a great day.
