The third annual charity fashion show organised by Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club and Carrick-on-Suir Business Association was a night of glamour and fun.

It was also an opportunity to raise funds for the Lions Club’s Christmas food appeal and COSBA’s Christmas street lights fund for Carrick-on-Suir.

A team of local volunteer models showcased the top fashions on sale in Carrick-on-Suir for men, women, children and teenagers. Fashions from Wurlitzer, My Dress, In The Wardrobe, Leonies@Bourkes, Bourkes Menswear as well as Blarney Woollen Mills and Farrell & Browne based at Dove Hill were all featured on the catwalk along with shoes from Meany’s and Phelan’s Shoe Shops.

Katherine Cahill of Prima Model Agency was the fashion show’s very able compere.

During the interval, the audience was treated to mulled wine and nibbles from Lily Mae’s Cafe at Dovehill. There was
also a raffle and spot prizes with Ingrid Desert from Paris winning the coveted
door prize of a weekend break in the Killarney Plaza ohotel sponsored by O’Donoghue’s Hotels and Terry Flynn Travel.

The elegantly dressed Patricia Norris from Mooncoin won the Best Dressed Lady prize of a €100 Carrick-on-Suir town voucher sponsored by Carrick-on-Suir Credit Union.

Fashion show organiser Maria Madden of Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club said the show was a wonderful success and the best they have run to date.

“Dovehill is an amazing venue for the show and I wish to thank the store’s manager Mairead Tobin and her staff who pulled out all the stops to get it ready for the event.”

She also paid tribute to all the volunteer models and all involved in organising
the show.
