Lions Club selects Youth Award winner

Foroige nominee Natasha Allen has won Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club’s annual Youth Award.

Foroige nominee Natasha Allen has won Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club’s annual Youth Award.

She was one of six young people representing various community organisations in Carrick-on-Suir, who were interviewed for the Youth Award competition in the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre.

Natasha will go on to represent Carrick-on-Suir in the regional final of the Lions Club Youth Awards.

Ann Ellis was thanked for organising the Youth Award competition at the Lions Club’s November meeting.

Pat Murphy was thanked for organising the annual Peace Poster competition in which thirteen local primary schools participated.

Vera Walsh was complimented for distributing over one hundred ‘Message in a Bottle’ containers throughout the town. Anyone seeking one of these bottles or any information about the ‘Message in a Bottle’ scheme should contact Vera or any other club member.

Lions Club President Stephanie Keating, meanwhile, read a letter of thanks from the Camphill Journeyman Project for a recent donation.

The Club’s annual Flag Day takes place this Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8.
