There was a great turnout of members, players and supporters to Carrick Swan GAA Club’s planning and development workshop last Friday evening.

County board facilitators for the workshop were Jimmy Minogue and Jackie Maher, who the Club thanks for their presentation and input.

The workshop was a starting point to put a plan in place to serve the club over the next five years.

It is hoped that all in attendance on Friday evening, and all who support the Swan Club in any way will play a part in the efforts to develop and improve all aspects of Carrick Swan Club over the coming years.

The Club also hosted a juvenile medals presentation ceremony in the Swan Juvenile Centre last Friday.

Boys and girls from 6 to 10 years of age were presented with their medals by Tipperary All-Ireland winning minor captain Bill Maher.

All in attendance enjoyed the event and it was especially pleasing to see so many parents, grandparents and family members present.

The Club thanks Bill Maher for attending and extends belated congratulations to Bill’s club, Kilsheelan-Kilcash, and their coach Derek Hogan, on their recent county junior hurling championship success.

Many underage players will be going on their end of year trips over the coming weeks and the Club hopes
they enjoy them. The timetable for
the trip to the Waterford pantomime
on Saturday, December 22 has been issued.

All the Club’s youngest players are looking forward to this event. The Club thanks all those who help out with all these boys and girls.

A number of Swan team mentors attended a coaching course in Clonmel last Saturday. The Club compliment all those showing such a keen interest in this very important area.

A number of Swan underage players continue to attend development squad training with county panels and the Club wishes them all well.

The Club’s outgoing Juvenile Secretary Terry Lonergan was presented with a special merit award at the
Canon Hayes Sports Awards in the Ballykisteen Hotel last week. She received the award for his outstanding contribution to juvenile activities in the Swan Club for many years. The Club congratulates Terry on her well deserved award.

Numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto draw were: 17, 19, 23 and 24.

The €2,500 jackpot prize wasn’t won but two players matched three numbers to win €100 each. They were Michael Drohan, Clonmel and Noreen Walsh, Grangemockler.

Carrick Swan Club thanks all those who continue to play its Juvenile Lotto and reminds those who might like to join that weekly entry costs €2 and this can be paid to any committee member or to any of the lotto promoters, who will call to collect each week. This week’s jackpot prize is €2,750.
