A large concourse of mourners were in attendance at the removal of his remains from Whelan’s Funeral Home, Tipperary, to the Church of the Assumption, Lattin, and at the following day’s Requiem Mass and burial in Shronell Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Alice, sons Patrick and James, daughters Marianne and Sarah, brother Liam, sisters Winifred and Eileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephew Richard, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The death has also occurred of Bridget O’Brien of Clonaskeagh Hospital, Dublin and formerly of Verscoyle Court, Dublin and Ballinard Cross, Tipperary. Bridget, who was one of the country’s oldest citizens, was in her 106th year. Her funeral took place to St. Patrick’s Church, Cullen, where Requiem Mass was celebrated, followed by burial in the local cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
