Grandparents’ Day - thanks to all those who attended our recent Grandparents’ Day in Cappawhite N.S. It was tremendous occasion to have many generations of families in the school. Thanks to the Parents’ Association for assisting with refreshments on the day.

PARENT & TODDLER GROUP

The Parent and Toddler Group continues to meet in the school hall on Friday from 9.30am to 11am. New members are welcome.

SCRAP METAL COLLECTION

Cappawhite N.S. is reopening its scrap metal collection. Metal and electrical items can be dropped to Grisewood’s farm at any time. All money raised in aid of school funds.

HISTORY TALKS

The Open Learning Centre Cappawhite (also knows as the OLC) is presenting a series of history lectures on Cappawhite and surrounding area. Talks continue to February 27, at 8pm each Wednesday. Cost is €5 and there will be a cup of tea afterwards. This Wednesday, February 13, Des Marnane renowned historian will speak on The Purefoy Family of Cappawhite. Wednesday, February 20, Kieran Devery will give his talk on the Munster bank collapse. Wednesday, February 27, John Minogue go back in time with his guided tour. SET DANCING

Adult Set Dancing every Monday night in Coughlan’s Lounge. Beginners 7.30pm, other levels 8.30pm.

COLLECTION

The Irish Wheelchair Association will hold a church gate collection this weekend Saturday and Sunday, February 16 and 17.
