WELCOME BABY EMMA

Congratulations to Seamus and Julie Curtin on the birth of their daughter Emma, recently. Congratulations also to proud Skeheenarinky Grandparents - James and Alice. We wish you all great joy and happiness with little Emma.

LOCAL SOCCER SUCCESS

Congratulations to Mary Barrett who was selected for the girls under 12 South Tipp soccer team and Niamh Curtin and Chloe Treacy who made the under 14 South Tipp team after trials in Clerihan over the last few Saturdays. They all play for local team, Burncourt Celtic, and this is indeed a great achievement for them.

SCHOOL VISITS CORK POPS

It’s Cork Pops time again and the pupils from the national school were all at the City Hall in Cork on Thursday the 7th for the event. This year’s show was reported by Robbie Connolly to be ‘even more enjoyable than last year’. According to the Cork Pops webpage “The concert is an opportunity to come out and experience an exciting ‘live’ musical performance; see the instruments of the orchestra; and singalong with the Cork Pops”.

SCHOOL HISTORY PROJECT

Some of the Skeheenarinky National School pupils are taking part in the County Museum sponsored History Project which is presently being judged in Clonmel. In a few weeks’ time when all the judging has been done the projects will go on display in the Museum Exhibition room. The school has a great record in this competition and fifth and sixth class took first prize in the South Tipp region a couple of years ago! Fingers Crossed!

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

It’s only a few weeks away and the Parents’ Association are in the early stages of planning for the Ballyporeen St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Skeheenarinky School pupils and parents have a great record in the parade and have been proud first-prize winners on many occasions. We look forward to seeing the entry this year which will certainly be of a high standard, as always!
