55 Social Club

The 55 social club will hold their next social night on Friday 15th Febuary,venue “The Coachman”,Parnell Street.Music on the night will be by Tony Egan.the January night was well attended and the music by The Piano Man, a new man to the club,was really enjoyed by everyone there and we hope we will see him again soon.Anyone wishing to join the club would be most welcome .See you all there on the 15th.

South Tipp Art Group

Junior STAG are on mid term break on this coming Saturday 16th February. A new 5 week Art session will commence on Saturday 23rd in the Art Room,Infant School at the back of St. Peter and Paul’s Primary School, Kickham St., Clonmel. As there are only a few places left in the Primary Section( 9 years to 6th. Class) & Senior Section ( 1st year to Leaving Cert.) please contact the Organiser at 0868096823 as soon as possible.

Adult STAG: The Adult Artists in STAG are now getting around to painting for the forthcoming Exhibition in the Library in June. With the onset of Spring it is hoped that there will be some hardy souls out painting en plein air around the county and further afield soon! New members are always welcome on any Tuesday night from 7.30 p.m. in the venue above.

A number of STAG Adult Artists are taking a watercolour course with Artist Ray Osborn, Callan every Tuesday morning up to Easter, in the South Tipperary Arts Centre 10. 30 to 12.30 p.m. As it’s an ongoing course those with some knowledge of watercolour painting can join in at any stage.

A one-day workshop on Design and Composition in landscape will be given by Plein Air Artist Michael McGuire, Wexford , in the Shallowsnest Studio, Ballyknockan,Broadway, Co. Wexford on Sunday 10th. March. Booking essential at 0879335456 or contact the Organiser at 0868096823.

New events at South Tipp Arts Centre

Recital : Another Fundraiser for the South Tipperary Arts Centre.

Classical Guitar Recital on Thursday night 21st February 7. 30 p.m. with Guitarists Peter Richmond, Surrey, Uk and Liam O’ Reilly, Shamrock Hill, Clonmel featuring Popular classical favourites, Spanish pieces, Jazz, Pop ( Beatles) and Trad. Mary O’Gorman, Poet, Powerstown, Clonmel will read some of her beautiful evocative poems during the Recital. Adm: €10 Adults, €5 children, €8 concessions. Loreto Convent musical

Loreto Convent will present a Musical Extravaganza “Sounds Of Spring” on Wednesday night March 20 in the School. An evening of wonderful talent from the pupils, not to be missed.
