NEW INN & DISTRICT VINTAGE CLASSIC CLUB

will hold its Annual Run on Sunday, May 12. The run is open to cars, tractors, and bikes. This year all proceeds raised will be donated to the two primary schools in New Inn. The run leaves New Inn at 12 noon and will return to Barron’s pub for refreshments.

TIDY TOWNS

The AGM of the Tidy Towns Committee took place last week. Officers returned - Chairperson: Philly Fahey, new Vice Chairperson: Gerry Bell, Secretary: Dave Morris, Joint Treasurers: Mary O’Connor & Phil Ryan, PRO: Eleanor Flanagan. Thank you to outgoing vice chairperson: Peter O’Donnell. The chairperson Philly Fahey is determined to improve on last year’s effort and welcomes any volunteers who would like to help. The first of the “Clean Up” nights started last Tuesday at 7pm, meeting point, the carpark, and will continue every Tuesday right up to June.mile. Thanks to everyone for their support.

LAGGANSTOWN SCHOOL REUNION FUNDRAISER

A joint table quiz will be held in New Inn on Friday, May 10, at 8.30pm in all three pubs, Barron’s Pub, Ollie’s Bar and The Rovers Inn. Tables of four €20. The School Reunion is taking place on the weekend August 2-4.

WOMEN’S GROUP

A meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 8.30pm in the NICC. Topic for discussion is “Health Check”. Also membership fees will be taken on the night. Zumba classes continue every Tuesday. Thanks to Veronica Crowe of the VEC for sponsoring these classes.

NEW INN CAMOGIE

U12s camogie began their league campaign with a game against Holy Cross in Ballycahill on Saturday, April 13. The girls showed excellent form and emerged as winners of the game by 4 points. U16s played Moyle Rovers last Thursday evening in Monroe. Unfortunately Moyle Rovers proved to be stronger on the night scoring 4-4 to New Inn 2-2. Hard luck to our U16 players who were beaten by Galtee Rovers/St Pecaun/Aherlow in atrocious weather conditions last Monday night. Final score 2-11 to 2-03. U12E footballers were beaten by a strong Cappawhite team last Thursday in New Inn. Well done to our minor players who had good win over Cashel last Thursday in New Inn. Hard luck to our U12 B players who were beaten by Eire Og Anacarthy last Thursday in Annacarthy by 5 points.

NEW INN/ROSEGREEN BASKETBALL CLUB

New Inn/Rosegreen Basket Ball Club held a successful Bouncy Basketball Family Fun Day last Sunday in Rockwell College. Medals were presented to the U10s and U13s that recently won our in-house blitz. Congrats to David Doyle who won the parents shoot out competition. Thanks to all who attended also to the hard working committee, coaches Sinead and Roy for their time and dedication throughout the year. Training and games resume in September.
