The Lourdes Committee will hold their Annual Collection on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April in Cahir. This is to send a sick person from our Pparish to Lourdes. Your support of this collection is much appreciated.

Cahir Day Care Centre will hold its AGM on Tuesday, May 14, in the Day Care Centre, St. Mary’s Road, Cahir at 8pm. All are welcome to attend.

Dragon boat team
A group of breast cancer survivors have recently formed a dragon boat team. Dragon boating is a great team sport, an excellent way to keep fit and meet new friends. We meet in the CARE Cancer Support Centre, Clonmel and have training rowing sessions in Clonmel Rowing Club. We also make time to have great fun and chats.

There was no Jackpot winner of the draw that took place on Wednesday, April 17. The draw was witnessed by Kitty Saunders. The numbers drawn were 6, 20, 29 and 31. There were four lucky dip winners each taking home €25 and they were; Mary Masterson, Mitchelstown, Joan Duggan, Avondale Court, Cahir, Rita Coffey, Carrigeen, Cahir and Mattie Cummins, Springfield, Clerihan. Congratulations to all.
The next draw will take place on Wednesday, April 24, in Cahir Day Care Centre at 12 noon. The Jackpot will then be €3,400. Get your tickets early. Tickets are available in local shops and also at the Enterprise Centre.
Results of the Card Game that took place in the McAuley Room on Friday, April 19, are: 1st with 13 Games were David White Willie and O’Neill. 2nd with 12 Games were Kitty Slattery and Rita Walsh. On the Lucky Table were Bob Condon, Paddy Holleran, Jim O’Donnell and Margaret Quinlan. Raffle results; Paddy Holleran and Tom O’Mahony. The next Game will take place on this Friday, April 26. The next Guild meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 1, at 8pm in Ballingeary school house. There will be a speaker on the night. Hostesses for May are Joe Fahey, Teddy Kerrins, Anne Casey, Anne Hanrahan and Mary E. Fitzgerald. All are welcome to our meetings.
Will hold its Annual Run on Sunday, May 12. The run is open to cars, tractors, and bikes. This year all proceeds raised will be donated to the two primary schools in New Inn to raise much needed funds to help alleviate running costs due to the government cutbacks. The run leaves New Inn at 12 noon sharp and will return to Barron’s pub for refreshments. All support would be greatly appreciated.
In first place with 12 games each were Mary Anne Healy & Tony Keating and in second place with 10 games each Paddy Holleran & Eileen White. Table Prize: Tommy Guilfoyle & Timmy Fitzgerald. Raffle: Tommy Guilfoyle, Ml Murphy and Tim Joe McGrath. First Sweep: John Cooney & Liam Harty, Second sweep: Joe Ahern & Tommy Guilfoyle. A special raffle of a hamper was won by Jim Meskell. €380 was raised in aid of Operation Smile. Thanks to everyone for their support.

There is an LTI Course starting at Cahir Business & Training Centre. It is a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Business Administration containing moduleson Business Administration Skills, Database Methods, Communications, Word Processing, Work Experience, Spread Sheet Methods, Bookkeeping Manual and Computerised Payroll Manual and Computerised. Cahir Flower and Garden Club’s Gala Flower Demonstration by Yolanda Campbell, in Cahir House Hotel on Wednesday, April 24, at 8pm. Adm €15. All floral arrangements will be raffled on the night. All proceeds on the night will go to WAFA (World Association of Flower Arranger. Ireland is privileged to have been chosen to host World Flower Show at the RDS in June 2014. This will be a spectacular event as 31 countries will be represented and will participate. Come along and hear lots more about this show.)
