The Davin Senior hurling team is looking forward to its next South championship game against local rivals the Swan in Davin Park at 1.30pm next Sunday.

There has been some cracking games between both Carrick-on-Suir side since the Davin team returned to the senior ranks.

The Davin team have been working hard since the turn of the year and last week’s defeat to Ballingarry doesn’t reflect the effort the management and senior hurling panel have put in over the last number of months.

Hopefully the Davins can redeem themselves next Sunday and give the many fans that will attend value for their money.

The Club urges all its supporters to put on their colours, arrive early and give the players they support they deserve.

In football, the Club’s win against Clonmel Óg/Clerihan last week was enough to qualify the team for the semi-finals. Players need to attend all training sessions to keep up the team’s good performances. They will be notified of training times by text.

Congratulations to Michael Whelan, Luke Faulkner and the mentors of the South U-15 team, who defeated North Tipperary to win the Roger Ryan Cup last weekend.

Davin Club member Raymond Cooke was a member of the defeated South U-16 panel. It was disappointing that he did not get much of a chance to show what he can do on the pitch.

The U-6s and U-8s continue their training on the all-weather pitch from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesdays. The U-10s and U-12 will now train on Thursdays in the field from 7pm to 8pm. These players should remember to bring their boots.

Numbers attending training are growing every week and this is no accident. The coaches and helpers thank all the parents for the effort they make in bringing their children to training sessions every week.

The Club’s lotto jackpot prize wasn’t won in last week’s draw. Two tickets matched three numbers, winning their owners €200 each.

Numbers drawn were 10,14, 21,22.

The Davin Club sends its best wishes for a speedy recovery to Tom Ryan and Tony Marshall. Both men give up so much of their time for the benefit of the Davin Club.
