Burncourt Gathering Festival will kick off on Friday, July 12, with traditional sessions in the pubs in the village.
Saturday, July 13, Turn back Time as the Community Centre will be transformed to recreate the village as it would have looked in 1913.
Sunday, July 14, sees plenty of fun for the young and the young at heart with a Pedal Power Tractor Run to Burncourt Castle where there will be a picnic in the Castle Grounds.
Friday, July 19, there will be plenty entertainment in the Community Centre with a Medieval Banquet. Tickets €15. It would be great if all would come in medieval dress but this is not essential. Saturday, July 20, a historical walk will take place.
Sunday, July 21, will be the final gathering of the festival and promises to be a great day for all with traditional crafts, gaelic games, sack races, pig on the spit, falconry and archery display. One of the highlights will be the recreation of a Fulacht Fia – a Bronze Age cooking site.
