The finals of the parish hurling league will take place will take place this Saturday in the main field.
Starting time for the first match will be 2pm. The B final will see Jake Kiely and Christopher McDonagh’s teams do battle while the A final will see Kevin Grogan and Thomas Kelly’s team go head to head.
These two games promise to be good tough and exciting encounters. The skill and commitment of both sets of teams is second to none. It is the first year that the camogie girls have participated all of whom seem to be enjoying the experience and might now become a permanent part of the team make up. The A finalists will compete for the Horan family perpetual cup which was sponsored by Brendan and Sean Horan. It would be difficult to run the league without the involvement of the school. Thanks to Brendan and the staff for their help in getting teams together.
It is intended to start a similar league for lads in secondary school. Names of those who interested in taking part will be collected in the next week and teams will be made out also in then.
