CJ. Kickhams Gaa
We are very thankful for the huge effort put in by all our promoters in selling the current Tipperary Draw. A sincere thanks also to all the people who supported our club by buying tickets in a time where we appreciate fully the economic pressure people are under at present. The money raised will be used to promote gaelic games in our community. Thanks to club co-ordinator Tommy O’Sullivan who put in many hours making sure all information supplied by the promoters was recorded and logged with the draw committee in Thurles.
This years classic will be held in Callan Golf Club on August 20. Information on the classic will be available in early July.
The club grounds are private property and should only be used for training purposes or when using the complex. Children using the premises as a playground for climbing buildings or building camps is dangerous and we ask in the interest of their safety that parents advise them to stop. The gates to the sportsfield will be closed from 10pm each night to 8.30am each morning. Cars using the carpark should operate a 5km speed limit when entering and leaving the carpark and while on the premises. CCTV is in operation on the premises but we’d prefer peoples co-operation rather than use this as evidence.
Tipp V Clare
We wish Paul Curran and Eoin Kelly every success against Clare next Sunday. We know ye’ll do us proud as usual.
We wish all our young players the best of luck with their exams.
This committee is fundraising for a wonderful new playground and adult recreation area where the tennis courts are at present. This project deserves all our support. Committee members will be in your area soon selling mice no less for a mouse race night in TJ Macs on July 2.
The talking is now over and from this week on its going to be getting out and about and making the village look well. This Thursday night at 7pm the grotto at Kickham place will get a face lift and all hands on the night will be more than welcome. If we could match half the effort being put in by Emmy Maher we’ll go a long way to having a village we can all be proud of.
Votes of sympathy.
The club extends its sympathy to Michael, Sally and Jimmy Scott on the recent death of Mary Moore, Callan. To her father Paddy O’Connor and family we extend our prayers. May she rest in peace.
