AISLING TOURNAMENT

The annual Aisling tournament for players born in 2002 or later will take place in Cullen on this Saturday with the first games due to commence at 10.30 am. All funds raised will go the Aisling Children’s Fund.

TENNIS

Result from the Tuesday night tournament in Lattin Tennis Club were as follows; Under 11 winners Mark O’Brien and Mary Hennessy, runners-up Hanna Kate Heffernan and Martin Dillon; Under 14 winners Darragh Long and Angela Heffernan, runners-up Liam Ryan and Cora Howe; Under 18 winners Mairead O’Connor and Shane McGrath, runners-up Luke Ashmore and Quetin.

SOCCER

A disappointing start to the new season for the Cullen-Lattin B team as they went down by 2 – 1 to Dulla in the opening game of the Fourth Division Shield in Aisling Park, Cullen last Sunday. All the goals came from the penalty spot with Richard Hennessy on the score sheet twice for the visitors, while Barry O’Dwyer got one back for the home team. A big improvement on all fronts will be required if this team is going to make an impression in the weeks ahead.

The network will host a meeting on Thursday, September 1st at 8p.m. in the Millennium Centre, Caherconllish to finalise preparations.
